Review : Sunday Roast at the Lock Tavern

Chances are if you live in or around Camden then you have heard of the Lock Tavern. It is by far one of Camden's coolest pubs, often showcasing up-and-coming DJ's and new indie groups that only your most hipsterific friends have heard of.

The pub in itself has a relaxed shabby-chic vibe inside, plus there is a heated beer garden out the back AND a roof terrace.

But of course, we are Les Greedy Cochons, and we are not here to talk to you about interior design. The gem in the Lock Tavern's crown in our opinion is by far their sunday roast. For around £12 you get the works; roast potatoes, parsnips, red cabbage, yorkshire pudding, stuffing and green beans with a choice of pork belly, lamb or chicken (plus they always have a veggie option).

And guess what? We know this is big but we're just going to say it. This is the best roast in the world. Bar none. Seriously. It's amazing.

Round it off with a pint of Fruhli fruit beer and you've got yourself one hell of a Sunday.

  1. The New Rose in Angel also does a mental roast, even though it's not Camden. Have to give it the Lock's pies and chips, though.
