Recipe : Strawberry Jam with a Twist

So, we all love strawberry jam, right? Right. But sometimes you need that little bit extra, a bit of something that you can really get your teeth into.


Presenting 'Strawberry Jam with Whisky and Vanilla'. Don't worry, we aren't trying to get you drunk at 7am, not this time anyway... by the time this is cooked the alcohol had evaporated and you are left with just the smoky, woody taste of the whisky and the subtle sweetness of the vanilla.

Ingredients :

200g Strawberries
200g Sugar
20 drops Vanilla Essence
25ml Whisky

Preparation Method :

- Wash, top and quater your strawberries
- Put all the ingredients into a saucepan and cook on the hob at medium heat, the jam should simmer but not boil.
- After 35mins, take off the heat and pour into a sterilised jar. Be careful, the jam will be VERY hot!
- Shut the jar while it's still hot and leave it to cool.
- Enjoy!
