Review: Tweat-Up Taco Wars
What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than heading over to the giant food orgie that was the Tweat-Up organised Taco Wars?
What's Taco Wars? I hear you cry - well here's the gist of it: 10 traders serving up one delicious Taco each, one winner to be crowned the best Taco in Britain voted by us, the public. We had the pleasure of trying each Taco in turn surrounded by a great atmosphere. There was music, free margaritas (how could we refuse?) and even a crazy tape measuring contest.
If you didn't make it to Merchant Yard for Taco Wars upcoming Tweat-up events include Ginstock, the Craft Beer Battle and more. it was our first but judging by the day we had certainly not our last.
Anyway - let's get down to the serious stuff... what were the strengths and weaknesses of each taco? Check out the photos to see all the Taco's and our personal faves. And the winners were Luardos, just in case you were wondering.

Review: The Fromagerie Cheese Shop & Tasting Cafe (Marylebone)
Over here at Greedy HQ we love cheese. Unfortunately, there isn't a decent cheesemonger to be found in Camden for love nor money, or certainly not one that we know of.
However, at the bottom of Regent's Park nestled next to our other favourite supplier, the Ginger Pig, in the heart of affluent Marylebone lives this little treasure.
Simply named La Fromagerie, this place is a real gem. It's part-deli part-tasting cafe and has the most amazing cheese room around. Full of all sorts of cheeses from all over the world, it's not cheap but always good and you won't be disappointed. Especially if you try the Epoisse.
Trust us.
It's amazing.

The Sausage Roll Laboratory at the Collective Launch Party
Les Greedy Cochons were recently asked to help cater the launch party for the Camden-based creative hub Collective.
We of course jumped at the chance and got thinking about what we could prepare. We settled quite quickly on the idea of sausage rolls (a great favourite of Mr. Greedy Cochon), but of course they had to be something a bit special. We weren't about to whip up your hum-drum, mass produced, boring old sausage rolls. Oh no! These were going to be based on English classics, from Scotch Eggs to Stilton, we wanted it all.
Presenting - The Sausage Roll Laboratory, five different types of sausage rolls for your epicurean pleasure.
Check out our pictures below and some snaps of the event itself, including a peek at the delicious canapés prepared by our joint caterers Dirty Apron (more on those lovely ladies at a later date).
Above is our trusty timer that made sure that none of the sausage rolls got burnt, and below is the logo that we came up with for the Laboratory.

Review: The Crown and Goose on Arlington Road
The Crown and Goose is a real gem in Camden Town that despite being very central is often overlooked. Don't get me wrong, this pub is certainly buzzing at peak times, but is still relatively unknown by a lot of Camdenites.

Review: Oliver's Fish & Chips on Haverstock Hill
Every good neighbourhood deserves a good Chippie, and Camden's finest is hands down Oliver's Fish and Chips on Haverstock Hill.
Take your pick from cod, haddock, tuna or salmon (to name but a few) either in the traditionally battered style or coated in Matzo breadcrumbs, prepared right there and then in front of you. And if that doesn't tickle your fancy, then also offer a great selection of fish on the grill - simply pick a fish and a sauce/ topping and you're good to go.
The food is delicious and the setting is lovely, and if Haverstock Hill is too far to travel then on the weekends you can also find them at Camden Lock market.
It's worth noting that this is a fish and chip shop that truly lives up to it's name, there are no pukka pies or battered sausage to be found here, so fish haters beware. However, for all you Celiacs out there you will be happy to learn that Wednesdays are Gluten-free. Cool, huh?
And guess what? They even do home delivery.
